Day 89 - October 28, 2010

Today was so nice it barely felt like fall. The sky was all lit up with colour when I was walking across the parking lot.

Day 87 - October 26, 2010

Despite all the fighting, playing and chasing of each other up and down the stairs, Darwin and Rogue will both calm down to enjoy their breakfast together.

Day 75 - October 14, 2010

Therio labs make for the best pictures. Thursday morning again and this time instead of being elbow deep in a cow or mare this week we had a dystocia lab where we got to deliver calves!

Day 68 - October 7, 2010

This is Sam, my in-laws cat. He is one of the biggest cats there is and one of his favorite times to get attention is while you are trying to use the computer. So here he is right on top of the keyboard.

Day 67 - October 6, 2010

The three reasons I make it through every lecture, lab and tutorial of vet school.

Day 65 - October 4, 2010

Still playing with all the features on my iPhone, I took this picture of our living room while I was watching tv.

Day 64 - October 3, 2010

Adam got home last night and today we finally got what I have been waiting over a month for, my iPhone. This is the first pic I took with it, still in the mall and I put my finger right over the lens haha!

Day 55 - September 24, 2010

Adam is home for his week off :) and tonight we went to the Ducks Unlimited dinner with a bunch of friends from school.

Day 54 - September 23, 2010

So this year we have hands-on Therio labs every Thursday morning. Last week we did palpation on the mare and this week it was on the cow. Turned out, my cow was pregnant!

Day 49 - September 18, 2010

My baby boy relaxing on the bath mat. He hasn't been feeling well lately and he has an appointment next week with his doctor to start on medication to treat his insulinoma. Until then, he is getting extra spoiled and has been hanging out with me upstairs.

Day 48 - September 17, 2010

This gorgeous sunset was awaiting me when I got home tonight and this was taken from our deck.

Day 43 - September 12, 2010

We have a large flock of small birds in the neighbourhood that always come and gather in different yards. Today the birds were moving from one lawn to the next and I caught a pic of them in the yard are across the street.

Day 40 - September 9, 2010

I really want to get a good picture of a whole flock of birds in flight just filling the sky. I was driving home and when I was stopped at the red light there were birds flying everywhere. They were a little too far away to really show up well in this shot but I'll keep trying.

Day 38 - September 7, 2010

Leaving the house this morning I had both kitties watching me get ready so I had to stop and snap a picture of them, they looked so cute!

Day 37 - September 6, 2010

My second week of school and since I started back I have been walking past this vine climbing up the side of the building so I decided to take a picture of it. I really like climbing vines as I find they are a good example of perseverance to be able to climb up a brick wall. Unfortunately the administration and/or maintenance crew didn't feel the same way as it was cut down at the end of the week. :(

Day 36 - September 5, 2010

After the Storm. I woke up this morning to go to work and took a look around to see if any damage was caused by the storm. We lucked out and nothing had happened on our property but this tree was knocked down on our neighbour's.

Day 35 - September 4, 2010

I was working today during the storm and it was raining and blowing all day. I get home and discover that while I was away, my two kitties had appropriated the sea grass baskets I had bought for scrapbooking materials. They were taking turns in the basket tonight and as soon as one left, the other would climb right in.

Day 34 - September 3, 2010

Before the Storm. We are supposed to get a hurricane tomorrow so I suppose that is why the past few days were so hot. Everyone in the neighbourhood was making sure things were put away and tied down today and this picture is the calm before the storm.

Day 33 - September 2, 2010

So the heat wave is still on and the temperature today set another new record. Tonight was orientation pub crawl and it was still blazing hot at midnight. I don't normally mind a bit of heat but this week is the reason I don't like in a hot climate. This is upstairs at the last bar of the night and we found an air conditioner!

Day 32 - September 1, 2010

So today is the first of September and it is the HOTTEST day all summer! I felt the only thing that could truly depict this day was the sun. The temperature today set a new record and with the humidity it felt like 38 degrees!

Day 31 - August 31, 2010

A flower I found out in our backyard. Although we are back to school it is still very much summertime.

Day 30 - August 30, 2010

My first day back at school for 3rd year. This is the view of the vet school I see every morning while I am walking up the ramp to go to class.

Day 91 - October 30, 2010

First snow! It was raining this morning and the temperature must have dropped a little because I looked outside and it was snowing. It didn't last long when the sun came out but pretty crazy considering it was 16 degrees two days ago!

Day 90 - October 29, 2010

I had taken some time off from posting on here while I was busy with school and family. Now I am going to try and get back at it but I'm switching from a photo a day to just as often as I can. I have some old photos from the past two months I am going to organize and get posted and we shall see how it goes from here on in.

Adam is back out west working now so a couple friends and I got together to carve pumpkins. We all picked ideas off the internet, drew them as best as we could and this is the result! Mine is the witch on the end.

Day 29 - August 29, 2010

I'm back home again and since I took the red eye, it was a very long day. I was on the computer inside and out of the blue all you could hear was birds. These trees and the neighbour's back lawn were covered with a couple hundred little brown birds. I was hoping to get a pic of them just taking off but they were pretty settled in the trees and just kept squawking instead.

Day 28 - August 28, 2010

We got up early and left Yellowstone this morning to drive through Montana up to Calgary. Although the border held us up a bit with traffic we made it just before suppertime and surprised our niece and nephew who had no idea that we were coming. Unfortunately the only plane I could book that would get me back home in time for school was that night at 1 am so it was a quick surprise visit for me.

Day 27 - August 27, 2010

There are so many pictures I could post for this day. We went to the hot springs, mud pots, and geysers. We hiked down the canyon to the bottom of this waterfall, there was elk everywhere and we went swimming in the boiling river at Mammoth. This is a view of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with the Lower Falls as it falls over 300 feet.

Day 26 - August 26, 2010

We made it! We arrived at Yellowstone National Park and ended up being pretty lucky. There was a crowd gathering at Old Faithful and not long after we joined them, it erupted! It only took us 2 years as last time we got all the way to the east gate and learned the roads are closed until May. We hiked around the rest of the geyser basin and got to see a number of others erupt as well, including Grand Geyser which is even more impressive, and a few bison wandering about.

Day 25 - August 25, 2010

The Badlands, it didn't take me much convincing to get Adam to agree to detour through the badlands. We even stopped and did some hiking into them but I was convinced there was going to be a rattlesnake in every crevice. Next stop was Mt. Rushmore and then it was onto Wyoming. We didn't get as far as we were hoping but we did make it to Buffalo.

Day 24 - August 24, 2010

Trucks! It's hard to only post one picture when there's so many different things in one day. Cars covered in like 100 bumper stickers, a truck piled so high on the roof and off the back bumper I don't know it was moving, 50 windmills in the middle of a corn field, the I-90 for 1200 km straight, corn fields for 800 of those kms! We made it to Sioux Falls, SD and there were so many semis on the road, they were 4 thick in places!

Day 23 - August 23, 2010

I believe this was Ohio. The sun was setting as we were driving into it and it was so blinding you couldn't see a thing. We were attempting to block it with sunglasses, visors, magazines, trucks, anything we could find but it was near impossible. It reminded me of the movie Constantine with Keanu Reeves where he is walking through the street in hell. We made it all the way to Toledo, Ohio today and paid every single annoying toll along the way, New York especially!

Day 22 - August 22, 2010

Moose, I was hoping to see them all day but these were the only ones in sight. We detoured off the interstate through New Hampshire and Vermont and this painted pair was were in a small town in Vermont. There was also another one painted like Van Gogh's Starry Night but I missed getting a picture. We left home this morning (twice) and made it to the edge of Vermont.

Day 21 - August 21, 2010

We are packing up and getting ready to leave and Rogue was camped out in front of the door. She must know something is up and does not want us to leave.

Day 20 - August 20, 2010

Adam`s wound the day after. He was stuck to the sheets last night and he did not sleep very well. Hopefully lots of polysporin should help heal it up soon as we are going away tomorrow.

Day 19 - August 19, 2010

Another beautiful day at the beach and then a big barbecue supper after. Adam was skimboarding and came home with this wound.

Day 18 - August 18, 2010

Mmm, mmm coffee. What else is there to say? Tim Horton's is my husband's one true addiction.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Day 17 - August 17, 2010

When we bought our house, Adam's step dad brought us a new little maple tree to plant. We put it in the backyard but a few weeks later it was run over by the lawnmower and didn't have any leaves left. We didn't think it would make it but it has been doing great!

Day 16 - August 16, 2010

Basil was enjoying the summer today out in the dog park. He must have found a good spot here as he was rolling non stop in the grass.

Day 15 - August 15, 2010

Lazy Sunday. Rogue and I spent the day on the couch (after she rolled around under the coffee table) watching movies and surfing the internet. With laundry on the side.

Day 14 - August 14, 2010

Beach Day! Today was sunny and hot so one of my best friends and I headed up to the national park for the afternoon. The beach was sufficiently crowded but we managed to find a good spot to spread out the blanket. There was absolutely no wind and the water was at least 20 degrees. Definitely one of the best parts of the summer (and living minutes from the water).

Day 13 - August 13, 2010

Today was the final day of the summer research program I was taking part in at school. We were presenting our research posters and this is mine all printed out 3 feet by 4 feet.

Day 12 - August 12, 2010

I have never been stung by a bee, wasp or hornet before in my life. Today I was stung four times! We were out in the dog park and the grass was getting a little long and walking back in, a wasp must have got caught in my pant leg because it starting stinging me! I found out that I am thankfully not allergic to stings but wow do they hurt, I hope it's the first and only time.

Day 11 - August 11, 2010

The cats have already been posted so today is the ferrets' turn. They were all in their hammock having a snooze when I went downstairs so I snapped a pic. From left to right are: Isis, Zion, Nyx and Ares.

Day 10 - August 10, 2010

Not the most eye-catching photo today but it is something I am very thankful for. Our dehumidifier arrived today! The downstairs has been so humid this summer and it is feeling better already. I'm sure the animals appreciate it as well.

Day 9 - August 9, 2010

My favorite thing today was having supper in the fridge when I got home. Hubby had to work tonight and he had pasta all ready for me. I don't have the enthusiasm to prepare something when it is just me and I often end up snacking instead so it was a nice surprise having it already made.

Day 8 - August 8, 2010

Today is our 1 year anniversary! It seems like a year has gone by really fast. This is our sand ceremony that is proudly displayed on top of our entertainment unit.

Day 7 - August 7, 2010

I seem to like taking my pictures first thing in the morning. I saw this outside and it inspired me. The entire sky was dark and cloudy but at the sight of this you could tell it was going to be a nice day. And it definitely was as the sun came spilling out as I was driving to work not long after. :) It was only too bad that I was working this Saturday as otherwise I would have been at the beach all day!

Day 6 - August 6, 2010

See the love! This was very early this morning. Darwin and Rogue were chasing each other all over the house, up and down the stairs and included some straight up battles. I think Darwin was upset at Rogue eating all the food again!

Day 5 - August 5, 2010

I love my nephews. Today was my sister's last day visiting and we spent the day downtown which always includes Cows. It was a gorgeous summer day.

Day 4 - August 4, 2010

This is what I woke up to today. Pouring cats and dogs rain. And that meant no dog park today and a really long day indoors.
